What level of fitness will I need to have to start?
When starting Tae Kwon Do you do not need to be fit. The training at the club is targeted at each individual’s level of fitness.
As you progress, you will see improvements in both your fitness and flexibility.
When starting what is the recommended clothing?
We recommend that you wear loose fitting clothing such as a tracksuit, jogging bottoms or shorts with a t-shirt.
This is because a lot of Tae Kwon Do is based around kicking and movement.
Are there any membership fees?
The club offers a monthly fee at a reduced rate or you are able to pay for each lesson separately, if you would prefer.
Am I insured?
When starting out, members are covered under the instructors public liability insurance, however as you approach the
grading for your first belt, you will be required to obtain a TAGB license. This license is a legal requirement stated
by the TAGB and acts as the members own insurance cover. Ask your instructor for a license form when this is needed and
they will be happy to give you any further guidance.
Will I need a training suit?
Eventually you are required to purchase a training suit (Dobok) but only when you are certain that you want to
continue training Tae Kwon Do.
What are the age requirements for this martial art?
The TAGB accepts students from the age of 5 and above.
